Headlight Restoration

Restoration addresses suitable outer-lens deterioration. It cannot repair every cause of dim or misdirected headlights.

A cloudy or yellowed outer headlight lens can scatter light and reduce useful illumination. Restoration may improve a suitable lens surface, but the result depends on its condition and whether the deterioration is external.

NOFO checks whether the concern is surface haze, housing damage, internal moisture or another lighting fault before recommending work. A cracked housing, failed lamp or broken aiming mechanism calls for a different repair. Describe both the appearance and what you notice when driving at night.

Signs that bring vehicles in

  • Hazy, yellow lenses that cut visible light output
  • Failed inspection due to lens condition
  • New bulbs that made little difference to the beam

What the visit involves

  • Assessment of outer-lens condition and suitability for restoration
  • Identification of housing damage or lighting concerns requiring another repair
  • Explanation of the proposed restoration scope and its limits

Diagnosis before authorization

A request does not guarantee a specific diagnosis, price or completion time. The shop confirms the appointment, explains findings and obtains authorization before repair work moves forward.

Common questions

Can restoration remove moisture inside a headlight?

Surface work does not repair a leaking or damaged housing. Internal moisture needs its cause evaluated, and the appropriate repair may differ from restoring an otherwise sound outer lens.

Will clear lenses fix a headlight that points the wrong way?

No. Aim and mounting condition are separate from surface clarity. Mention poor beam direction as well as cloudiness so the shop can consider both concerns before recommending work.
