A/C Diagnosis

Warm air and weak airflow can have different causes. Tell us what the vents do, which settings are affected and whether cooling changes while driving.

Warm air or weak airflow can involve refrigerant, controls, the compressor or airflow through the vents. NOFO reviews the symptoms and checks the systems involved before recommending a recharge or repair. A recharge does not fix a leak, and an intermittent concern may need more than one step to identify.

Signs that bring vehicles in

  • Vents blow warm or only slightly cool air
  • The A/C works at speed but not in town (or the reverse)
  • A clicking or rattling when the A/C engages
  • Water on the floor or oily residue near fittings

What the visit involves

  • Review of vent airflow, cooling performance and control behavior
  • Refrigerant, leak or electrical checks selected for the observed concern
  • Explanation of whether recharge, airflow repair or another component repair is appropriate

Diagnosis before authorization

A request does not guarantee a specific diagnosis, price or completion time. The shop confirms the appointment, explains findings and obtains authorization before repair work moves forward.

Common questions

Should I book a recharge if the A/C blows warm?

Warm air does not prove the refrigerant is low. Compressor controls, airflow and other faults can also reduce cooling. Describe the symptoms so the shop can determine whether refrigerant service is appropriate.

What if the fan runs but little air comes out?

That is useful information because airflow and refrigeration are different parts of the system. Mention which fan speeds and vent positions work, and whether the problem affects heating as well as cooling.
